- Conferencia de Inauguración: Jan Alexandersson, "Discourse structure and dialogue processing".
- Dr. Jan Alexandersson is a senior researcher at the Intelligent User Interface laboratory at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence, DFKI GmbH in Saabrücken, Germany. He received his MSc from the University of Linköping in 1993 and has since then worked at DFKI. He received his PHD from the Saarland University in 2003. Over the years, his research has been focussed on developing discourse and dialogue models for various dialogue systems, such as VerbMobil and SmartKom. Since 2006 he is the overall coordinator of the EU-funded eInclusion project i2home, see www.i2home.org
- Abstract: In this talk I will review discourse and dialogue modeling activities at the Intelligent User Interface lab (IUI) of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence. As a starting point, I will describe the discourse model developed for the speech-to-speech translation system VerbMobil, continue with the refinements necessary for the multimodal dialogue system SmartKom and, finally, touch upon the EU-funded project i2home.

- Artículos: 20 minutos de presentación + 5 minutos de preguntas
- Demostraciones y Proyectos: 15 minutos de presentación + 5 minutos de preguntas. Las Demostraciones deberán combinar trasparencias de presentación y la demostración en sí.
